When getting a young person to start playing golf, there needs to be a process to follow that addresses when to start, how to develop skills, and find helpful resources to foster continued enjoyment of the game. Our 7 Step Junior Golf Program is designed to build a foundation that should enhance the total experience for the Junior Golfer. Step 8 provides membership opportunities at Stonebridge Golf Club.

Private Lessons with PGA Certified Instructors
STEP 1 begins with scheduling a minimum of three (3) individual private golf lessons with one of our PGA Certified Professionals. By offering support and encouragement through professional golf instruction, all of our staff instructors have significant experience teaching junior golfers. Junior golfers should experience a variety of opportunities to find their place within the game whether it be competitive golf or just pure enjoyment of the game. The best way to start learning the game!





Junior Summer Camps at Stonebridge Golf Club
STEP 2 understands that golf is a social game. Young golfers who learn, laugh, struggle, and improve together are more likely to continue. Taught by PGA Certified Instructor, Barry Churchill, our junior golf camps use “game based” learning techniques to assure the most fun while learning to play. With a 3:1 student to teacher ratio, topics include the rules of golf, safety, and course etiquette. How to execute short game and long game shots on the course. Group instruction works best for the junior golfer!





Operation 36 Golf at Stonebridge Golf Club
STEP 3 develops Junior Golfers from ages 6-18. Taught by our staff, Operation 36 Golf is a complete program designed for golfers of all levels. You have a weekly group class and play 9 holes each week. When you play 9 holes, you start by playing from 25 yards from the middle of the green. Your goal is to shoot 36 or less on 9 holes. Once you shoot 36 or less you move onto the next level. There is up to 10 levels, and you pass each level by shooting 36 or less on 9 holes. From their first round to shooting even par or better!





PGA Junior League at Stonebridge Golf Club
STEP 4 is participation in the PGA Junior League Golf program which provides young golfers an excellent way to dial in their competitive spirit. The 10-week season starts in April and finishes in June. Meeting one day per week, golfers learn and work on all aspects of the game including the full swing, pitching, chipping, putting, basic golf course safety and etiquette. We finish the program with on-course matches. Taking a team approach to golf, matches have two-person teams playing in a scramble format against another two-person team. The PGA Junior League Golf program is recreational in nature but does have a skills prerequisite. Contact our staff for more information. Our goal is to have junior golfers play well on the course!





Junior Events through Local Golf Organizations
STEP 5 is participation in other junior golf events. A junior golfer will understand the reason to spend quality time practicing once they’re faced challenges on the golf course. Several non-profit, corporate, and affiliated Junior Golf Tours have events schedule at Stonebridge Golf Club throughout the 2026 season.

Amateur Events through Carolinas Golf Association
STEP 6 is participation in the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) which provides a schedule of competitions, support and benefits to golfers including amateur ranking points. The CGA is a not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1909 whose mission is to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas. Providing access to life-changing opportunities through the game of golf!





Build Your Resume for High School and College Golf
STEP 7 provides interested parties a quick and clear understanding of the player’s ability. Every Junior Golfer should have a current resume of their golfing, academic, and extracurricular activities and accomplishments. During today’s recruiting process, it is important to not only provide the right information to coaches but to give it in the right manner. Important things to find on a playing resume include tournament finishes and scores, golf rankings, instructor information and swing videos. Let’s get a playing resume started!





Memberships Available at Stonebridge Golf Club
STEP 8 provides an opportunity for membership. Stonebridge Golf Club is the perfect choice to introduce your junior golfer to the game and give them a head start on reaching their potential. Once junior golfer reaches Step 5, membership available at Stonebridge Golf Club.
